A proposal for a Women’s Polytechnic was put forth by the society in the year 1983. The Govt.,of Karnataka accorded its permission with E&CE program in the month of December 1983 with a sanctioned intake of 40. The institute started in the academic year 1984-85 with E&CE discipline of study with 19 students. After 4 years ,Society converted it into a Co-Polytechnic in the year 1988. There was demand for Computer Science program, hence this second program was added in the institute with a Sanctioned intake of 30 in the year 1992.Other three branches namely, Electrical & Electronics Engg, Mechanical Engg and Civil Engg were started with a Sanctioned intake of 60 students in each branch in the year 2008. Now the total Intake is 300 students.
